Here's the 3D from my kitchen supplier.....love it! I think I've done really well with the design for the space in my kitchen. The cut-out will be the winner.

more on my kitchen

This morning while having a lay in with a coffee and a mag, I came across this pic in Home Beautiful.
To my joy, this couple have the same look I will be doing!

Since I can't find a flooring I like, I will be grinding a few layers off the slab on the floor in kitchen and dining rooms patching up what needs to be patched....buffing, then rolling a gloss layer or 2 on the concrete.

They have a dark grey laminate for their bench top, I'll be using a dark grey 600 x 600 floor tile as my bench top with a white 300 x 600 splash back tile.

They have a window into their carport with open cupboards above, I'll have a cutout into my lounge room with open cupboards above.
I'll also be having white cupboards but mine will be on steel legs.

My new kitchen design

This design took me one night to put together....shame to guy I asked to quote to do the job can't seem to get the quote done in under a month! I've been waiting 3 weeks already and no phone call from him!
He better come up with a sensational price, or he's gone!

New design with cut out in the wall as a window into the lounge room.

Current kitchen

Originally when I bought the house

Sideboard revamp in my office.

This sideboard means a lot to me, I was given some money by my grand parents way back before I was first married. So when I was 18 I guess! I bought the sideboard with the money to remember my grand parents and their generosity. Now it is quite old and I thought needed a new look. In this photo I had already started
sanding the piece back. (3 top draws)

I sanded the draws and doors back, coated with gloss paint, waited for it all to dry then rubbed it all back with a course sandpaper.

I have to say...even though it hasn't come up that well in the photo, I enjoy walking into my office now. Its much lighter and brighter.

Its been a while since I've posted!

So here goes with some new things happening.

more gardening

Over my holidays I've been working pretty hard around my house and gardens.
This was the back yard when I moved here in May 09

This is it now after the xmas break!

Clothes line out, paves up and new line on the back of my house.
Little Gem Magnolia planted in the center of my yard.
Just need to get fill for the holes now.

Thank goodness for Bob, he did so much work here
helping me with the 2 clothes lines.

Using the ugly metal fence for something useful, I'll be painting the fence soon.

My parsley

Set up for Zumba in my garage now.
Bought a fan today for this space.
I'm afraid not even that is going to get me out there in
this heat to workout!!!!

Back garden next...

Why is it that most Australians put their cloths line in the center of the yard? It was one of the things that annoyed me about this place when I bought it. WELL.....no more. Free to a good home, my cloths line is being picked up one day this week by.....someone, forgot to ask their name!

Look at it...they even paved a walk way to it.
The seat has been moved today and I have taken up half the paves already.

This is where my new cloths line will go, the herbs have been taken out today also ready for the
wall mount line.

The rain has stopped, so off I go outside again..... :)

Next project....

Paint the boy friends hall console for Christmas.
I bought this hall stand a while back at a second hand store, had it outside for a while then decided I didn't want it any more.

For xmas I am giving my man an "Entry Make-Over" for his new house. I have bought a few things that will remind him of his trip to Paris last year, they will all center around this console as you walk in his front door.

First step....paint this gloss white.

And here it is....French Provincial.

Had a lovely time ripping the top off this with my sander to give it a "used" look.
Then I just oiled it with a good furniture oil.

Next time you see this console it will be after xmas in his entry after my make over....

Fabric for dining room chairs

Finally re-covered my chairs yesterday to match my lounge.

As they were.....

Now after recovering, can't wait to get my new vinyl laid all the colours I have chosen when I moved here
are starting to come together now.
